The Cottage of Salinero is dated 1889, and was the former residence of
worker of the saltworks of Bocacangrejo Agüimes located in Gran Canaria. The
salt flats are still in operation and produce high quality sea salt.
In 2009 the old cottage has been renovated as rural housing. Framed within the
environment of the natural landscape of the saltworks, and by the seaside, this
home is a haven of peace, away, relaxing and inaccessible. If you want
tranquility in touch with nature and the sea, this is your place.
The house consists of 1 master bedroom and two sofa beds in the salon,
accommodating up to 6 people. Fully equipped kitchen and bathroom and a
spacious terrace overlooking the sea and watching the salt flats ensures
beautiful sunrises and very relaxing evenings.
You can do all kinds of sea-related activities but especially the windsurfing
and kite surfing, as the cottage is in the same bay of Playa de Vargas, famous
for the practice of these sports. Walks beside an authentic sea, devoid of
civility are scrumptious at late afternoons.
You will not find touristic terraces or beach bars, just the cottage, the sea and
you.
